Peelander-Z po hudi prometni nesreči v bolnišnici – skupnost zbira pomoč za okrevanje
Japonska action comic punk skupina Peelander-Z je bila v začetku tedna udeležena v hudi prometni nesreči blizu mesta Albuquerque v ameriški zvezni državi Nova Mehika. Kombi skupine naj bi na avtocesti I-40 od zadaj silovito trčil tovornjak, zaradi česar so bili člani skupine Yellow, Pink in Tiger prepeljani v bolnišnico in nameščeni na intenzivno nego.
Po prvih informacijah so vsi trije utrpeli resne poškodbe, med drugim zlome kosti, poškodbe reber, vretenc in druge hude travme. Stanje članov se sicer postopoma izboljšuje, vendar jih čaka dolga pot okrevanja.
Yellow (Kengo Hioki) je bil sprva neodziven in priključen na ventilator, vendar je kasneje začel samostojno dihati ter premikati prste na rokah in nogah. Kljub napredku ostaja na intenzivni negi in prestaja hude bolečine. Pink je že prestala več operacij zaradi številnih zlomov, a prijatelji in zdravstveno osebje poročajo, da ni izgubila svojega značilnega smisla za humor. Tiger je utrpel poškodbo glave, zaradi katere zdravniki nadaljujejo previdno opazovanje, a naj bi bil kmalu odpuščen iz bolnišnice.
Člani skupine se same nesreče ne spomnijo.
Po besedah organizatorjev turneje in zdravstvenega osebja je prava sreča, da so vsi trije preživeli nesrečo. Njihov booking agent Brad Raffenaud je za ameriške medije povedal, da je bilo stanje na kraju nesreče tako hudo, da si marsikdo ne bi predstavljal, da bi lahko kdo preživel.
Skupina je zaradi nesreče odpovedala vse prihajajoče nastope. Njihov kombi, oprema in osebne stvari naj bi bili popolnoma uničeni. V mestih Albuquerque, Austin in Dallas že nastajajo dobrodelni koncerti ter akcije zbiranja pomoči za kritje zdravstvenih stroškov in rehabilitacije.
Pri njihovi zadnji evropski turneji pred devetimi leti sta z njimi sodelovali tudi Društvo Touhou in Društvo Beyond The Sensor, ko sta organizirali njihov nastop v Gradcu. Člani skupine so organizatorjem ostali v spominu kot neverjetno zabavni, polni energije in norih idej – ravno ta nepredvidljivost, iskrenost in kaotična pozitivna energija pa je Peelander-Z naredila za nekaj resnično posebnega v svetu alternativne glasbe.

Peelander-Z after a serious traffic accident – community rallies to support recovery
Japanese action comic punk band Peelander-Z was involved earlier this week in a severe traffic accident near Albuquerque, New Mexico, USA. The band’s van was reportedly violently rear-ended by a truck on Interstate I-40, resulting in members Yellow, Pink, and Tiger being hospitalized and admitted to intensive care.
According to initial reports, all three sustained serious injuries, including broken bones, rib fractures, spinal injuries, and other major trauma. While their condition is gradually improving, a long recovery process lies ahead.
Yellow (Kengo Hioki) was initially unresponsive and placed on a ventilator, but later began breathing on his own and moving his fingers and toes. Despite this progress, he remains in intensive care and is still in significant pain. Pink has already undergone several surgeries due to multiple fractures, but friends and medical staff report that she has retained her trademark sense of humor. Tiger suffered a head injury, requiring careful monitoring, though he is expected to be discharged from hospital soon.
The members have no memory of the accident itself.
According to tour organizers and medical staff, it is truly fortunate that all three survived such a severe crash. Booking agent Brad Raffenaud told US media that the scene of the accident was so severe that survival seemed unlikely.
The band has canceled all upcoming performances. Their van, equipment, and personal belongings are considered a total loss. Benefit concerts and fundraising efforts are already being organized in Albuquerque, Austin, and Dallas to support medical costs and recovery.
During their last European tour nine years ago, Društvo Touhou and Društvo Beyond The Sensor also collaborated with Peelander-Z, helping organize their show in Graz. 日本のアクション・コミック・パンクバンド Peelander-Z は今週初め、アメリカ・ニューメキシコ州アルバカーキ近郊で深刻な交通事故に巻き込まれた。バンドのツアー用バンは州間高速道路I-40上でトラックに激しく追突されたとされ、メンバーのYellow、Pink、Tigerの3名が病院に搬送され、集中治療室で治療を受けている。
初期情報によると、3人はいずれも骨折、肋骨の損傷、脊椎損傷などの重傷を負っている。しかし現在は徐々に回復の兆しを見せているものの、長い治療とリハビリが必要とされている。
Yellow（Kengo Hioki）は当初は反応がなく人工呼吸器につながれていたが、その後自発呼吸を開始し、手足の指を動かすことができるようになった。それでも現在は集中治療室に入院しており、強い痛みに苦しんでいる。Pinkは複数の骨折によりすでに数回の手術を受けているが、医療スタッフや関係者によると、彼女は持ち前のユーモアを失っていないという。Tigerは頭部外傷を負い慎重な経過観察が続いているが、近日中に退院できる見込みとされている。
3人とも事故そのものの記憶はないという。
