Novo leto prinaša tudi začetek nove “taiga” drame z naslovom Sanada Maru, kjer glavno vlogo prevzema Sakai Masato. Horikita Maki bo prvič po njeni poroki zaigrala v drami Higanbana, ki je prej izhajala v terminu “drama special”. Po 4-ih “drama speciali-ih” prihaja “Specialist”, kjer ima glavno vlogo Kusanagi Tsuyoshi. Arimura Kasumi bo prvič nastopila v komercialni drami “Itsuka Kono koi o Omodashite Kitto Naiteshimau”, Ayase Haruka pa bo tudi prvič imela glavno vlogo v drami, ki bo filmska adaptacija novele “Never let me go”, ki jo je napisal vsem poznani Ishiguro Kazuo. Drami, ki nastajata pod taktirko TV ASAHI “Aibou” in Kasouken no Onna” in drama “Itsuka Tiffany de Chousuku O” iz NTV, pa se nadaljujejo, kjer so se končale v prejšni sezoni.

Although Asa was furious when she had first heard about the betrothal, when she met up with Shinjiro for the first time, his charisma greatly attracted her and she fell in love with him in no time.After their marriage, at the cusp of the Meiji era, the Shirooka’s found themselves in dire financial straits, as money changing was no longer a lucrative business anymore. Shinjiro deemed himself not suited to making money and devoted his time to playing the shamisen and pursuing other refined cultural activities. As they neared bankruptcy, Asa decided to turn to coal mining, as that is the much-needed commodity at that time. She set off to Kyushu by herself, to talk to the coal miners to talk about coal supply.

Meanwhile, Hatsu was also married to another prominent family of money changers in Osaka. Facing the same financial difficulties as the Shirooka’s, Hatsu and her husband ran away in the middle of the night, disappearing without a word. One day, Asa bumped into her sister and tried to offer her financial help, but the young couple refused, as they wanted to rebuild their lives using their own capabilities…

The drama depicts the challenges faced by Asa, in a very much male dominated society, and how she overcomes them triumphantly. It also showcases the changes in the Japanese society as the Meiji Restoration slowly swept across the nation

Directed by the Financial Services Agency, Teito Bank merges with Tozai Bank and EFG Bank, thereby creating the megabank Tozai Teito EFG Bank (TEFG) with Teito Bank as its core. After the merger, the staff members from Teito Bank take control. The hierarchy among people from different banks remains entrenched in the megabank.Among the staff, there is a crafty dealer named Katsura Mitsuyoshi (Shiina Kippei). And while he is not from Teito Bank, his abilities are recognized by the superiors, hence he is promoted to the managing director of the Exchange Department.
On the other hand, there is a staff member named Nihei Shohei (Kiritani Kenta) who is from the predecessor of EFG Bank, Meikyo Bank, and works in the general affairs department. Though he is “at the bottom of the TEFG”, he refuses to submit himself to this hierarchy and focuses his energies on work instead.
One day, the top executives of the TEFG have a confidential talk with the bureaucrats of the Financial Services Agency, who then settled to buy super-long-term government bonds. And out of nowhere, and at an unfortunate timing, the Japanese government bonds plunge, making the TEFG suddenly falls into the crisis of bankruptcy.
To make the TEFG financially viable again, Katsura and Nihei join forces to fend off against foreign fund holders which attempt to purchase the TEFG and the conspirators among the bureaucracy.
